What are we publishing, why, and what happened?

Honest by design

  • Unavailable estimates stay blank; any figure needs its source, country and date.
  • Results are recorded per metric, period and source, and never added across metrics.
  • The month view shows the first item and “+N more”; the Content sheet always lists everything.

Common questions

Do I need search-volume data?

No. The volume estimate is optional — leave it blank if you do not have one. If you enter a figure, also record its source, country and the date you looked it up; the workbook flags a volume without them. There are no difficulty scores, ranking forecasts or “worth doing” labels.

Why start with the audience and their problem?

Because a topic is only useful if it helps someone do something. Each content row starts with who it is for and the task or problem it helps with, before the topic and channel.

Can I see whether a piece of content brought in customers?

You can record what you measured — one metric, one period and its source per row — and keep impressions, clicks, enquiries and sales separate. A result that came after publishing does not prove the content caused it, so the workbook never adds them up or claims it.

Do I need separate calendars for SEO and social media?

No. One calendar covers every channel — website pages, articles, email, social posts and video — with a channel column to filter by.

Does it post or connect to any tools?

No. It does not publish anything, connect to search or social tools, or generate content. It is a standard .xlsx file with no macros, checked in LibreOffice Calc; not tested in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.
